BUT NOT ABOUT YOU”

To make the most of this series, we encourage you to follow this daily reading plan with us, be a part of the online service where we explore each area, and discuss your experience with your community in your Connect Group. Together, we all discover the rhythms of life God has laid out for us.
HOW TO SOAP
SOAP is a simple and easy approach to studying the Bible. Just grab your journal and follow the steps!
S - SCRIPTURE
What stood out to you?
Take time to go through today’s Bible reading and minimise distractions to allow God to speak to you. Look out for a verse or word that particularly speaks to you and write it in your journal.
O - OBSERVATION
What is God saying to you?
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal himself to you and teach you in this moment. Why do you think that verse or word spoke to you? What do you feel God is saying to you in this scripture?
A - APPLICATION
How can you apply it today?
Ask yourself how this applies to your life right now and write down what this means for you today. It could be instruction, an encouragement, a promise to hold on to, or a correction for something in your life.
P - PRAYER
Ask God to help you use what you’ve learned.
This could be asking for greater insight on what He is revealing to you, or perhaps it’s simply asking for God’s help to use this scripture. Remember, prayer is a two-way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say! Now write your prayer in your journal and speak it out.
WEEK FIVE
PRAYER
MONDAY 24TH MAY
PHILIPPIANS 4 : 6 – 7
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
TUESDAY 25TH MAY
PSALM 34 : 17
17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
WEDNESDAY 26TH MAY
1 JOHN 5 : 14 – 15
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
THURSDAY 27TH MAY
ROMANS 8 : 34
34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
FRIDAY 28TH MAY
EPHESIANS 6 : 11 – 18
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
SATURDAY 29TH MAY
MARK 11 : 24
24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
SUNDAY 30TH MAY
PSALM 141 : 2
2 May my prayer be set before you like incense;
may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.
